
Spanish 2 (High School)
Overview
This program gives the student the opportunity to strengthen fundamental high school Spanish 1 concepts while embarking on Spanish 2 concepts. Through both fun activities and formal lessons, students will learn: Verb conjugation in present, preterit, and imperfect tenses, common regular and irregular verbs, common stem changing verbs, object pronouns, reflexive verbs, common vocabulary themes (i.e. food, clothes, sports, environment, family, school, technology), culture, and other topics typically studied at the first 2 levels. Activities include formal lecture, games, skits, worksheet activities, video viewings and song listening activities.
This course is also ideal for students who would like a "heads up" before taking Spanish 2 during the 2015-2016 school year.
This course may be ideal for the high school student who is planning to take Spanish 3 in the 2015-2016 year. For students with this goal in mind, please contact us so that we specifically discuss this possibility.
Prerequisites
Student must have already successfully completed (B or higher) a Spanish 1 or equivalent program.
Important Note
A maximum of 8 students can be accepted for each section of this course. Limited space available.
Objective of the Spanish 1 and 2 program
- Review Spanish 1 concepts
- Embark on Spanish 2 concepts
- Expand knowledge of culture and history of Spanish speaking world
- Expand Spanish vocabulary knowledge in common themes
