AP Language Preparation

Overview

This program gives the student the opportunity to Spanish 3 and 4 concepts for the purpose of preparing him/her for the AP Language course.

Important Note

A maximum of 8 students can be accepted for each section of this course. Limited space available.

 

Objective of the AP Language Preparation

  • Review Spanish 3 and 4 conceptss
  • Practice Spanish vocabulary words used at the 3 and 4 level

Meeting Dates

Tuesdays/Thursdays, 1 pm to 3 pm , July 6 to August 5 (20 hours total)

Through this program , students will review:

  • Preterite versus imperfect
  • Present and past subjunctive
  • Future tense
  • Conditional tense
  • Pluperfect tense
  • Relative pronouns
  • Direct and indirect object pronoun placement
  • Passive voice
  • Compound tenses
  • Common idiomatic expressions
  • Verbs like "gustar"
  • Prepositional phrases
  • "Por" versus "para"
  • Pronouns after prepositions
  • Concept of "lo" with adjective
  • Constructions with "se"
  • Stressed possessive adjectives and pronouns
  • Conjunctions followed by the subjunctive and indicative
  • Common proverbs

Textbook, info/activities booklet, handouts, 1 audio CD, password online activity access

 

Class Structure (To top)

One quiz per each session, midtest at midpoint level, final test on second to last session.

Students receive a completion certificate if he/she scores an 80% or higher on final test.

Last day during last hour students will be treated to pizza and a Spanish language video.

 

Tuition (To top)

$325.00 includes textbook, info/activities manual, snacks, 1 audio CD, and password access to internet tutorials.
